Alor Setar

Alor Setar, formerly known as Alor Star, is the capital and largest city of Kedah, Malaysia. It was founded in 1735. The name is came from the combination of two Malay words, which is “Alor”, means small stream, and from the name of a tree, “Setar”. This area had been officially became a city on 21 December 2003. As a city that develop rapidly, this city has a prominent landmark, Alor Setar Tower. The tower is also the popular tourist attraction on this city.
