Balikpapan is a city located in southeast Borneo on an inlet of the Makassar Strait. Once an isolated Bugis fishing village, it has now developed into a major port city, recognized for its abundance of natural and mineral resources. The regional base to many multinational corporations operating in East Borneo, its not rare to find many foreigners in this small city. Balikpapan may be small, but it boasts one of the largest and busiest airports in Borneo.
Kota Kinabalu is a growing city located along the northwest coast of Borneo. It was the capital of the state of Sabah, East Malaysia. The city is also one of the major industrial and commercial of East Malaysia. Mount Kinabalu, lush rainforest, and the tropical islands, are a few things that described this city a lot. Kota Kinabalu is formerly known as Jesselton. Locals are often refer Kota Kinabalu as Api-api, means fire. Atkinson Clock Tower is one of the historical landmarks in the city.
