Chengdu

Renowned for its spicy hot pots and aromatic jasmine tea, Chengdu is also recognized as the capital of Sichuan province. Like other major cities in China, Chengdu is a contrast of modernity and traditional ways, but what it lacks in ancient sites, it makes up for in charm and atmosphere. A gateway to scenic Jiuzhai Gou, the Buddhist mountains of Emei Shan and Le Shan, it is also the base for one of the largest Panda Breeding and Research centers.
