The hotel is a sanctuary for the soul, set on 1.6 hectares of lush
green nature reserve. With a mountain meditation pool, thickets of
trees, waterfalls and streams, it is a peaceful paradise, where
meditative moments are waiting to be had. The air-conditioned
estate has features such as a lobby with 24-hour check-out service,
a hotel safe, Internet access, a laundry service and a fine dining
restaurant. Those arriving by car may leave their vehicle in the
car park and guests may hire bicycles onsite. There are 15 guest
rooms available.
Rooms
Guests have a choice of accommodation options from the elegant
Earls Dyke Manor, the contemporary Deck House or The Villa,
elegant, yet opulent, and superbly comfortable. The Manor is a
place to sink into and savour, or guests may opt for the natural
beauty that surrounds The Deck House and The Villa, where trees and
mountains give guests a perfect excuse to indulge themselves for
longer. The en suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower, bathtub
and hairdryer. All accommodation units are equipped with king-size
beds, satellite/cable TV, a safe, tea and coffee making facilities
and air conditioning.
Restaurant & Food
Guests have the choice of a buffet breakfast or they can order from
the menu. They can dine in the old world splendour of the original
manor house, where The Retreat Kitchen's executive chef creates a
daily menu of gourmet fare, combining a symphony of fresh
ingredients from local markets. Food is paired exquisitely with
celebrated wines from the region.
Activities & Sport
Guests can spoil themselves with a choice of massages, treatments
and facials at the spa. They can spend the day luxuriating in the
spa, relaxing in the sauna and steam room and being revitalized
with a deep massage. Also it provides a wine cellar, a lounge and
library, a tennis court and hiking and nature trails. A refuge for
the body and a haven for the mind, guests will unravel and
surrender to the tranquillity. Guests may take a refreshing dip in
one of four outdoor swimming pools. Sun loungers are laid out on
the sun terrace for use.
Comments
The reception staff will meet guests upon arrival within the Manor
House, ensuring a smooth check-in and staff are available at
reception from 7 am until 11 pm every day. The concierge will
assist guests with all of their tourism needs, bookings and
information. Rooms are serviced daily and there is a fresh linen
change every second day. Guest's personal laundry can be done and
there are laundry bags and price lists provided in the rooms.
Security at the hotel is monitored by a professional team, 24 hours
a day, for that extra peace of mind. Hiking and birding guides are
available in the library to assist guests in recognising all the
flora and fauna in the area.
Directions, How to get
there
Arriving from Cape Town International Airport: Exit the airport in
the direction of the N2 Cape Town, and as guests approach the city,
follow signs for N2 City, Foreshore, Sea Point. Follow the N2
Stad/City signs until arriving at a large intersection with several
sets of traffic lights (Coen Steytler Avenue). The CTICC is on the
left-hand side (+- 22 km) and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront on
the right-hand side. Proceed straight ahead along this road (M62)
following the Table Mountain Cable Way/Camps Bay signs. The road
follows a steep and winding ascent to the top of the hill (Kloof
Nek). Without turning towards the Cable Way, descend straight into
Camps Bay. Take the second road to the right, Geneva Drive, and
follow its winding descent. Turn right into the 5th road, Sedgemoor
Road, and straight over a stop street (Berkley Road). Chilworth
Road is the very next road to the right. Turn right here and the
hotel is 100 m down the road on the left-hand side.
