Opened in 2006, Hotel 81 Elegance is part of Singapore's largest tourist class budget hotel chain. Though this no-frills hotel has no swimming pool, gym or restaurant, there are a number of restaurants and cafes just a few paces from the establishment. Facilities and services on offer include safes at the front desk, a laundry service (charges apply), and this air-conditioned hotel's front desk also sells telephone cards for International Direct Dial (IDD) which may be used in the rooms for overseas calls and provides a 24-hour reception service. There are also 2 lifts available as well as Internet access (for an additional fee). Other amenities comprise business center and car park.

All rooms boast individually adjustable air conditioning, a TV (mounted on the wall), a telephone, a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a small bathroom with a hot shower. Other amenity comprise an iron and ironing board available on request. Though the rooms are small, they are clean and elegantly furnished with the option of either one queen-size bed or two single beds (no extra bed allowed). Although some rooms do not have windows. Disability-friendly and non-smoking accommodation is available to be booked.
