The beach hotel is named after Van Nassau, Stadtholder (Governor)
of Holland and pioneer of the spice trade in the Indian Ocean and
to whom the hotel pays tribute. The resort consists of a total of
89 rooms. Guests are welcomed into a lobby with 24-hour reception
and check-out service. Facilities include a hotel safe, currency
exchange, hairdressing salon, children's playground, kids' club,
bar and restaurant. Further facilities include conference
facilities, Internet access, room and laundry services, car park
and bicycle hire.
Rooms
The junior suites have thatched roofs and are grouped in units of
8. The majority (68) are located on the ground or first floor. A
further 8 suites are on stilts above a natural fish reserve. Each
comes with bedroom with double bed, indoor sitting area and a
terrace or balcony. Each has an en suite bathroom with double
vanity mirrors, shower, bath and separate WC. Further features
include hairdryer, direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV,
radio, Internet access, safe, minibar, tea and coffee making
facilities and individually regulated air conditioning.
Restaurant & Food
The restaurant serves a delicious range of Mauritian-influenced and
international cuisine. The bar, which overlooks the pool and beach
and offers a relaxed and cosy atmosphere, mixes unique cocktails.
The hotel serves a continental breakfast buffet, and lunch
à la carte and from a set menu.
Activities & Sport
The hotel features both indoor and outdoor swimming pools,
children's swimming area, poolside snack bar, games room, sun
loungers, parasols, aqua fit, gym, hot tub, sauna, steam room,
massages, spa treatments, squash, horse riding and biking. There is
also a large selection of watersports on offer, including
waterskiing, diving, windsurfing, motor boating, banana boating,
sailing, catamaran boating, canoeing and pedal boating. The hotel
also organises both indoor and outdoor activities for children
daily under supervision. There are also sun loungers and parasols
on the sandy beach. Furthermore, there is a golf course roughly a
15-minute drive from the resort.
