The hotel is situated by the shores of Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake of approximately 139 m2. Masai's name refers to the lake's size and its tendency to be rough when windy.

Set on 81 hectares of Lake Naivasha's southern shoreline in Africa's Great Rift Valley, the resort blends in perfectly with its natural surroundings. Guests drive through lush gardens and ponds just to get to the 24-hour reception area.
