Formerly known as Mzizima, the city is Tanzania’s largest city. The city is also the richest city of the country and the economic centre. The name of the city is commonly translated as “abode/home of peace”, based on the Arabic dar ("house"), and the Arabic es salaam ("of peace"). Tourism is not hold an important role in the economic centre of the country. Yet the city still offers many interesting sights to explored.
