Banda Aceh
múi giờ trong Banda Aceh là : GMT+07:00
The provincial capital and largest city in the province of Aceh, Banda Aceh is more recognized as one of the cities that was heavily destroyed during the 2004 boxing day tsunami. Despite the devastation the city has gone through, the city has quickly redeveloped in recent years. Some remnants of the tsunami are still visible around the city, like a massive ship washed on shore. More than just a city that was destroyed by the tsunami, not many know that Banda Aceh is actually a historic city, and a city that holds to its Islamic roots. But unlike the dreaded Islamic cities westerners tend to fear, here you will find the people very friendly and free spirited.
Jayapura is the capital of Indonesia’s most eastern province, Papua on the island of New Guinea. It’s popular as a gateway for border crossing travelers headed to Papua New Guinea or vice versa, thanks to its close proximity to the border. As much of city is located on Yos Sudarso Bay, the mountains and beaches around the area remain untouched and free from any major human development. Beach lovers must visit the white sands of Base-G and Hamdani Beach which offers views of the Pacific Ocean. While the panoramic green views from the hilltop Mac Arthur Monument and at Lake Sentani are sure to take your breath away.
