Air China Limited is the flag carrier and one of the major airlines of the People’s Republic of China, headquartedred in Sunyi District, Beijing. As of December 31, 2012, Air China owns 461 aircraft, featuring Boeing and Airbus. It operates 284 passenger routes, including 72 international routes, 15 regional routes and 197 domestic routes, covering 29 countries and regions, and 145 cities (45 international cities, 4 regions, and 96 domestic cities). In cooperation with Star Alliance member airlines, its service network is further extended to 1,329 destinations in 194 countries.

Air China Class Available

  • Economy Class: Air China Economy Class cabin has larger comfortable seats and provide more legroom. On A330-200 is equipped with 207 Economy Class seats in 2-4-2 configuration while on Boeing 777-300ER there are 256 seats in 3-3-3 configuration. Each seat has more spacious 30 to 34 inch seat pitch allows passengers to relax their legs with 4 to 6 inch recline, adjustable backrest, in seat power socket and personal seatback screen featuring Audio Video on Demand. Air China also provides meal and beverage service in-flight. Blanket and pillows is available for passenger.
  • Business Class: Air China Capital Pavilion Business Class on A330 aircraft provides passengers on medium and long haul international flights, a comfortable seat incline up to 180 degrees, 190cm long and 54cm wide with 80 inches seat pitch which converts to angled lie flat bed. The Business Class seats is configured in 2-2 pattern with 15-inch personal seatback screens featuring Audio Video on Demand (AVOD) system on A330s, 77-300s and 747s aircraft. Pillow, blanket and in-seat power are available. Passengers are also able to enjoy four or seven course meal offered depending on flight time.
  • First Class: Air China First Class or Forbidden Pavilion First Class is only available on 747s, 777s, and A330s aircraft. Passengers are able to enjoy seats with comfortable private space and also feel free to adjust the seats according to their preference to be fully horizontal, recline or upright. Each seat has 190 cm long and 70 cm wide with 62 to 85 inch seat pitch which converts to be fully lie-flat bed. Air China also provides duvet, pillow, amenity kits and in-seat power. Passengers are also able to enjoy five or eight course meals in-flight.

Air China Baggage Allowance

Cabin:  

  • Passenger on domestic flights can carry onboard free baggage allowance: one (1) piece for Economy Class and Business Class, two (2) pieces for First Class with maximum length 55 cm, height 40 cm and width 23 cm and or maximum weight 5 kg.
  • Passenger on international flights can carry onboard one small bag for Economy Class with maximum weight 5 kg and two small bags with maximum weight 8 kg for Business Class and First Class. Each piece of carry-on luggage shall not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55 cm (long) x 40 cm (wide) x 20 cm (high).

Check-in:

International/Regional Flights:

  • The maximum baggage limit for Economy Class is one bag up to 23 kg, two bags up to 32 kg for Business Class and First Class.
  • Passengers with infant are permitted to bring infant food into their baggage with maximum dimensions shall not exceed 115 cm or weight 10 kg. In addition, a foldable baby stroller or bassinet may be checked in free of charge, or be carried in the cabin if there is room and with approved of the chief attendant.

Flights from China-Japan or to/from the Americas and Hawaii routes:

  • The maximum baggage limit for Economy Class is two bags up to 23 kg and 2 bags up to 32 kg for Business Class and First Class.
  • Passengers with infant are permitted to bring infant food into their baggage with maximum dimensions shall not exceed 115 cm or weight 10 kg. In addition, a foldable baby stroller or bassinet may be checked in free of charge, or be carried in the cabin if there is room and with approved of the chief attendant.

Domestic Flight:

  • The maximum baggage limit for Economy Class is up to 20 kg, Business Class up to 30 kg and First Class up to 40 kg with maximum dimensions 100 cm x 60 cm x 30 cm.
  • Passengers with infant are permitted to bring infant food into their baggage with maximum dimensions of 100 cm x 60 cm x 40 cm or maximum weight 10 kg. In addition, a foldable baby stroller or bassinet may be checked in free of charge, or be carried in the cabin if there is room and with approved of the chief attendant.

Scores of excellent Chinese and foreign bilingual movies, hundreds of music CDs and a great deal of relaxing games are at your disposal, enabling passenger to enjoy their own entertainment during their trip. A seatback entertainment system with audio and video on-demand is also available in First Class and Business Class on Air China's Boeing 777s and Airbus A340s and at every seat on its Airbus A330s. Other aircraft have audio entertainment in Chinese and English and video programming on shared overheard monitors. Passengers are also able to enjoy wireless internet on B777s.

Air China offers its passengers a balanced diet, focusing on seasonal variations and freshness. Different routes will provide the opportunity to sample specially prepared delicacies full of local flavor. Complimentary meal service is offered on international flights and domestic flights of longer duration. Various special meals may be requested in advance. Please note that all special meal requests require a minimum 24 hour notice prior to flight departure. Please contact Air China at least 48 hours prior to departure if a kosher meal is needed.

  • Economy Class: Passengers are able to enjoy meal and beverage service; light meal or snack on short routes; fruit and yoghurt provided with meals.
  • Business Class: Passengers in this class will get taste of four or seven course meal offered depending on flight time.
  • First Class: First Class passengers are able to enjoy five or eight course meals offered depending on flight time

During short trips, passengers can also enjoy our exquisite Chinese style baked cake, sandwiches, hamburgers, various yogurt and also fruit to be enjoyed with every meal.

Air China Fare Rules

  • Air China may need to change your seat at any time, even after passengers have boarded the aircraft, for operational, safety or security reasons.
  • Infants must be older than 14 days and under 2-years-old.
  • An infant ticket is 10% of adult fare. However, if passengers want a separate seat for their infant, they must pay the child rate. Ticket for infants cannot be booked online.
  • The ticket is only valid for the passenger whose name appears on the ticket. Tickets are not transferable and cannot be altered. Any transferred or altered tickets will be void.
  • Children between the ages of 2-12 years old can travel using the Children Fare which is regulated by Air China. Infants under the age of 2 years old can travel at a 90% discount of the published fare of first class, business class or economy class but will not have their own seat assignment.

Air China Change and Refund

  • Changes will be made depending on the type of ticket that was purchased and the seat availability. According to ticket regulations, passenger may be required to pay an additional fee for any ticket changes.
  • Refunds can only be processed within the validity period of the ticket either at the original place of purchase or an alternative place agreed upon by Air China. For electronic ticket purchases, refunds will be processed through the local reservations office.
