Address : aboulevard 29, copenhagen Show Hotel Map

This pleasant hotel is located immediately beyond the picturesque Copenhagen Lake. The Town Hall Square, Tivoli Gardens, historical inner city featuring a fabulous pedestrianised area, National Museum, Rosenborg Palace Museum, Nyhavn canal, Amalienborg Palace, Little Mermaid and Christianshavn (behind the harbour) may all easily be reached on foot, by bus or underground. Copenhagen's exhibition and concert fairground as well as countless restaurants and cafés are to be found close to the hotel and links to the public transport network, shopping venues, restaurants, bars, pubs and nightclubs lie within a few paces of the hotel. Copenhagen airport as well as the nearest beach are to be found some 8 km away.

The newly renovated Avenue hotel is one of the best hotels in Copenhagen. A design hotel in essence it retains the family feeling and ownership it has always had. The rooms and facilities exude style and inspiration for an enjoyable stay, while the architects touch can be seen throughout. And these little gems always take your attention, such as the delightful courtyard where the greenest of green plants, wooden decking, lanterns, and soft cushion seating make for a veritable city oasis. An excellent value for money property with the friendliest of staff and service, and all in a quiet but perfect location for exploring Copenhagen. Highly recommended.
Exterior: This classic building, over four stories, is traditional Danish architecture with rendered walls and large windows. It was designed by Emil Blichfeldt who also designed Tivoli's main entrance.
Lobby: The lobby area at the Avenue is the heart of the hotel and focal point for meeting and socializing. The centre point of the lobby space is a huge horse shoe shaped bar and reception desk, to one side is where check-in is carried out while to rear is the bar. The bar has been designed with coziness and warmth in mind, and it inspires talk and relaxation with grey velour sofas from Italy, book shelves full of style and architecture books and a modern sandstone fireplace. To the rear of the lobby, which was designed by the famous architect Mikael Mammen, is a small shop selling many of the furniture items in the rooms as well as two computer terminals for those who do not have their own with them to use the wi-fi in the rooms.

Rooms
All rooms have been renovated during 2005 and are now by far the best in Copenhagen in either the 3 or 4 star category. The rooms are medium to large in size and have been designed with an attention to detail and a personal touch making them exude character, charm and style. The rooms boast flatscreen Lava TV's from Sweden, Bestlite lamps commissioned especially for the hotel and bright and funky bedspreads by Missoni of Italy. To offset these feature items the rooms have been designed in soft neutral colours and carpet giving the rooms an elegant but cosy and comfortable feel. Then finally each room is decorated with photography from some of the best and most up and coming Danish photographers confirming the rooms to be some of the most delightful in Copenhagen.

Restaurant & Food
The breakfast room is located to the left of the entrance on the ground floor. It has been beautifully renovated and now boasts a cafe feel, with stylish black chairs and huge engaging pictures hanging from the walls and a light wooden floor throughout. Although there is no restaurant in the hotel, they decided on the unique but excellent choice of employing a professional chef, meaning a hearty breakfast full of Danish traditions and light snacks being able to be cater for on request in the hotel's bar.

Activities & Sport
The nearest golf course is approximately 5 km away.
